The Land of Neverendings

Kate Saunders’ work often derives inspiration from classic children’s books and this is no exception. ‘The Land of Neverendings‘ is a rip-roaring adventure celebrating the power of the imagination. It takes us to  a parallel world where lost loved ones’ toys come to life. It is moving, poignant and funny, and filled with memorable and engaging toy and human characters.

I was reminded of classic stories like Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan, but also the ‘Toy Story’ and ‘Monsters Inc’ movies.  ‘The Land of Neverendings‘ handles the difficult subject of losing a loved one at an early age in a sensitive and assured way. Meanwhile, there is no distraction from a pacy adventure.

We recommend ‘The Land of Neverendings‘ to readers aged from 9 years or so,  who revel in intrigue, wonder and magic. This is an assured and winning title.

The Land of Neverendings

Kate Saunders

(Faber and Faber) – Hardback

Moving, yet very funny, ‘The Land of Neverendings‘ is a rip-roaring adventure, but also an honest portrayal of grief for young readers. The story conjures memories of classic children’s stories like A.A. Milne’s ‘Winnie the Pooh’, alongside contemporary classics such as ‘Toy Story’ or ‘Monsters Inc’.  Loveable, real characters and adorable toys congregate in a special book, suitable for readers aged from 8 years old.
