Amelia Fang and the Unicorn Lords

Amelia has promised new friend, Prince Tagine, that she will help him, and his father, King Vladimir, discover the whereabouts of his missing fairy mother. Fairyweather disappeared when Tagine was a baby. Amelia knows that the stories of the dangers of the Creatures of the Light have been exaggerated. However, the Nocturnia search party, including  Florence (a rare breed of Yeti) and Grimaldi Reaperton, are heavily disguised, and prepared for a risky adventure.

It doesn’t begin well when Florence insults the Wishing Well of Well Wishes. King Vlad is Bee-side himself. Thereafter, the group runs the risk of missing the Rainbow Rail to Glitteropolis, the place mentioned on the scrap of fragment, King Vlad recovered when his fairy wife disappeared.

Will our ghoulish group maintain their disguises in the Kingdom of the Light? What of slumber smoke and dangerous lies? What unique talent can Florence present before a Unicorn Horn Tower gathering? Where is Fairyweather? Will King Vlad buzz back to life? There is humour, innovation and delight galore for readers of all ages in Amelia Fang and the Unicorn Lords. This is the second title of a tremendous series, ideal for newer chapter book readers.

Amelia Fang and the Unicorn Lords

Laura Ellen Anderson

Amelia Fang and the Unicorn Lords encounter each other in Glitteropolis. Amelia and her friends dare to face the daylight and the Creatures of the Light for they’ve a promise to keep. King Vladimir and Prince Tagine seek their wife and mother, Fairyweather, who disappeared some time before. Fortunately, King Vlad has a clue as to his wife’s disappearance, a scrap of glittery parchment. Yet, how can Amelia, Florence, Grimaldi, hope to disguise themselves in a whole new land that fears them? Furthermore, where is Glitteropolis? It seems like an impossible quest to cope in a sweetly-scented, daylight atmosphere, alongside trying to find a place of which you’ve not idea!
However we know our heroine from Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball. She is resourceful, loyal and determined. Although Florence, (a rare breed of yeti) may appear a liability, Amelia is quick to discover clues and use her wits! Laura Ellen Anderson has created such an enjoyable series. With strong, descriptive, witty images, and superb storytelling, Amelia Fang and the Unicorn Lords is a welcome addition to the Bookwagon shelves.
