Islandborn

Mrs Obi asks the class to draw a picture of their first country showing what they remember. Lola cannot remember the Island. She left it when she was a baby. Everyone else in her community is ‘Islandborn’, so she seeks their memories, hoping to build her own.

There’s the mangoes, the sea, the music, the heat, the monster…. what will Lola remember? What will she create in her picture?
