Lionel Eats All By Himself

Éric Veillé, translated by Daniel Hahn

(Gecko Press)- board book

‘Linel warn gedarn;. What’s that? It seems that he’s done with food. After all, he’s declined Daddy’s help. What’s more, he’s managed his spoon all by himself, too! Thereafter Lionel Eats All By Himself.
We watch Lionel’s skill with peas and thereafter pumpkin. Then there’s banana, pudding and cake. It means that Lionel’s proud and full and ready to ‘gedarn’. What’s more, it seems that Lionel’s not prepared to wait while his request is understood. Gedarn, or thereafter, could it be a….. ROAR? At that point, what might be revealed?
Might it be that Lionel’s experience is similar to Monster Food? Certainly, like that title, highly recommended to our youngest readers, this title is one to share at mealtime. What’s more, we suggest that Lionel Eats All By Himself might be recounted, reread and loved well. Then again, rather like our titular hero, it’s possible that this French originated title could become so familiar so that its readers wear peas, banana and even more!
Bookwagon loves the translated titles of Gecko Press and recommends them highly to our families. This book is an assured choice for our very new readers.
