The wind huffs and howls, blusters and blows. There’s a ‘Storm’. What a great day for kite-flying! Urgently, the boy and his grandfather search for the kite. Through the study, where Grandpa reminisces about the letter he posted in Rain. Then to the under stairs’ cupboard where they remember their perfect picnic, from Sun. Will they find the kite before the wind dies down?

Sam Usher’s beautiful picture book series is a Bookwagon favourite. We love the urgency to take advantage of the day. The rich possibilities and warm relationship between the boy and grandfather are inspiring. We suggest a kite fly, but urge a reading encounter, with ‘Storm’.
