Super Magic Happy Forest and the Humongous Fungus

Every hundred years the Super Happy Magic Forest celebrates its origin, when the Rainbow Dragon shot fire and life upon barren land to create a place of wonder, beatify and happiness. The Forest is overjoyed to celebrate anew, with ‘fun and frolics’ and the reappearance of the Rainbow Dragon, who will charge new life into the crystals that feed the forest.

Yet this century’s celebrations continue without sign of the Rainbow Dragon. Thereafter when she does appear, very late, she is limp, tired and overwhelmed. It seems that something has affected her. What’s more this evil illness seems to come from a villainous super mushroom, Fungellus. It seems he shoots off poisonous spores that overcome all life about it, while growing bigger and bigger.

Can it be possible that the forest’s five brave heroes might gather a magical potion and thereafter strike down Fungellus? Are all the heroes equal to the task? After all Blossom the unicorn is rather unreliable and has an overactive appetite. Furthermore Trevor the mushroom has guilt and misgivings about his power, size and necessity to the group.

Super Happy Magic Forest and the Humongous Fungus is an outstanding addition to Bookwagon’s early chapter books. Rather like Ben Clanton’s Narwhal and Unicorn series, we’re offered graphics, animation, riddles and jokes, unreliable characters and such a compelling and funny story. Bookwagon loves Super Happy Magic Forest and the Humongous Forest. We look forward to further titles in this series.

Super Magic Happy Forest and the Humongous Fungus

Matty Long

Can you imagine a place of ‘fun and frolics’ where ‘ice creams sprout from the ground’? That’s the setting for Super Magic Happy Forest and the Humongous Fungus. We arrive upon the day when the forest celebrates the birth of the Rainbow Dragon. It seems that this magical creature’s birth resulted in the birth of the forest, and then the emergence of magical crystals. What’s more, these crystals are imbued with new life every hundred years when the Rainbow Dragon returns. It’s a huge celebration!
However, this century’s celebration is nothing like as expected. Although the party preparations are in place and the festival begins with dancing and music and laughter, there is no sign of the Rainbow Dragon. Thereafter when she arrives, she is poorly, sleepy and seemingly under some horrible enchantment! It seems that super spores from Fungellus are at work! Might the five heroes be equal to the task to defeating an evil mushroom determined to eradicate every lovely thing about him?
Alongside graphics which are curious, witty and very entertaining, Matty Long offers a very funny story with such wonderful twists and turns. Furthermore, his characterisations, from the dubious Dr Shroomsworth, to Admin Bunny or Blossom the Unicorn, are hilarious.
Bookwagon is delighted to discover this series. Rather like Peanut Butter and Jelly and other books in that series, this offers fun, originality, diversion and satisfaction. Therefore, Bookwagon recommends Super Magic Happy Forest and the Humongous Forest highly to our newer chapter book readers.
