The Poet X
A novel by Elizabeth Acevedo
Xiomara, ‘The Poet X’, lives through her words. Twin gifts her a leather-bound notebook into which she scribes her thoughts, wishes and truths. Ms Galiano invites Xiomara to join poetry club. It’s the same night as communion classes. Xiomara is in conflict with her body, her faith, her mother’s rules and her feelings for Aman.
